Support the SF Wraparound Project

A gift to the San Francisco Wraparound Project will enable a better understanding the forces leading to will help to violent injuries in San Francisco and stop or reduce them.

A Young Man's Story...

Jeff is a good example of how Wraparound has made a difference. Fourteen years old and shot while walking with friends, he almost died three times during his initial trip to the operating room.

National Network of Hospital-based Violence Intervention Programs

The Wraparound Project has been affiliated with the NNHVIP since it's inception, working to strengthen existing hospital-based violence intervention programs and help develop similar programs in communities across the country.

Participants

Anywhere from three to six participants are selected for each session of The Empowerment Center program. These individuals are chosen based on three main factors: interest in and dedication to the program, ability to work in a team-oriented environment, and ability to create positive changes in their communities. All of our participants are young individuals, aged 15 to 25, and they are all victims of violent injury. Our participants are also successful graduates of our parent program the Wraparound Project, where each participant had previously received guided mentorship from highly competent case managers. Overall, our participants have overcome many adversities from their traumatic injuries, and as a member of The Empowerment Center, they strive to take their lessons and experiences to make a positive contribution to the community.

Participants of the Empowerment Center (EC) are required to attend at least three-fourths of all core and elective courses and follow three simple rules:

1. Must be on time to each event
2. Participants cannot arrive under the influence of drugs or alcohol
3. Must complete an activity reflection after each event and the final project at the end of the program
