Julia Orellana is the most recent addition, and first female case manager, at the Wraparound Project. She brings over 15 years of experience working with underserved communities, providing direct services, advocacy, and support to families and young adults. Julia is a longtime resident of San Francisco and knows firsthand what it is to be a part of an underserved community. As a former Foster Care Youth Julia directly benefited from and witnessed the positive impacts of community work with marginalized communities.
With an appreciation for the support she experienced throughout her journey, Julia decided to give back to the community. She started by working with the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center in 2000, and volunteering with the United Playaz. Shortly thereafter Julia began working as a case manager providing services specifically for girls. Her work with at-risk youth demonstrated the need for advocacy among the youth and their families. Since then, Julia has worked closely with San Francisco District Attorney's Office and the San Francisco Public Defenders Office, providing case management and court advocacy. She has created partnerships with many community based organizations that have resulted in more robust services for our clients with additional intensive wrap around services.
Julia has developed a strong bond with the local San Francisco community. She is passionate about her work, bringing a wealth of knowledge and connectedness with community organizations. Drawing on her personal and professional experiences, Julia is able to and shepherd her clients to local services and empower them as they recover from their injury.
