Catherine Juillard, M.D., MPH, is director of the Center for Global Surgical Studies and San Francisco Wraparound Project, both based at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG). Dr. Juillard is a general surgeon with clinical interests in general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care.

Dr. Juillard obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and her M.D. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. During her surgical residency training at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Juillard received her M.P.H. degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and was a postdoctoral fellow with the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit. After completing her General Surgery residency, she completed a fellowship in Trauma/Critical Care at the University of California, San Francisco. 

Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Juillard served as a Peace Corps Rural Health Volunteer in Senegal, where she developed an interest in public health which carries into her current research focus. Improving access to surgical and trauma care in low- and middle-income countries through health systems strengthening is Dr. Juillard's primary research interest. Dr. Juillard also works with the San Francisco Injury Center on local injury and violence prevention.
