National Network of Hospital-based Violence Intervention Programs

The Wraparound Project has been affiliated with the NNHVIP since it's inception, working to strengthen existing hospital-based violence intervention programs and help develop similar programs in communities across the country.

The mission of the San Francisco Wraparound Project is to stop the revolving door of violent injuries in the city of San Francisco. By finding resources in the community to address multiple factors, Wraparound case managers address the root causes of violence.

Why We Do This

Many young people become serious about changing their lives while in the hospital. Wraparound connects with young people at a teachable moment by working directly with survivors of violent injury.

  • Homicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for youth between the ages of 15 to 19
  • Homicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for children ages 10 to 14
  • Every year approximately 400 individuals are stabbed, shot, or assaulted in the city of San Francisco

Wraparound, together with other community-based organizations, has successfully helped reduce the rate of violent injury.   Read More >>
